Chequer plates - which embossings are available from JAERA?

At JAERA you have the choice between two main embossings: duett Chequer plates and quintett Chequer plates. Both variants offer high slip resistance and are ideal for industrial applications. The main difference lies in the number and arrangement of the warts on the plate surface.

Chequer plates duett made of aluminum in best quality from JAERA.

duett Chequer plates

The duett Chequer plates are characterized by two elongated warts per structural unit, which are arranged offset to each other in the block. This Embossing-depth offers a good combination of stability and slip resistance.

Chequer plates with 5 warts next to each other.

quintett Chequer plates

The quintett Chequer plates has five tapered warts per structural unit, which are arranged in a staggered check pattern. Due to the higher number of protrusions, it offers even better slip resistance and is therefore often used in areas that have to meet particularly high safety requirements.

Warp plates - all information

Here you will find all the important information about warp plates.

What are warp plates?

Warp plates, like checker plates, belong to the group of corrugated plates and consist of robust aluminum metal plates. They are characterized by a surface structure with wart-shaped elevations that are evenly distributed across the sheet.

These warp patterns ensure increased slip resistance, as liquids can drain away quickly and the formation of puddles is prevented. This significantly reduces the risk of people slipping and objects adhere securely to the surface. The wart structure also ensures that slipping movements between the shoe profile and the warts are minimized due to increased friction. Wart plates are therefore ideal for industrial applications where safety and stability are crucial.

Warp plates are used in many areas thanks to their non-slip and robust properties. They offer a wide range of applications, both in industry and in vehicle construction and building.

Mechanical engineering and industry:

  • Non-slip floor coverings in production halls and workshops
  • Platforms and landings in industrial plants
  • Safe flooring on loading ramps and conveyor belts

Transportation and vehicle construction:

  • Floor coverings in commercial vehicles, trailers and truck bodies
  • Step plates and boarding areas for buses, trains and streetcars
  • Non-slip surfaces in driver's cabs and loader wagons

Construction and architecture:

  • Stair treads and walkways in industrial buildings and warehouses
  • Floor and ramp coverings in public buildings and parking garages
  • Safety surfacing on external stairs, ramps and access paths

Food industry:

  • Non-slip and hygienic floor coverings in commercial kitchens
  • Cladding in cold stores and storage rooms
  • Slip-resistant walking surfaces, e.g. in butcher's shops or dairies

Home and DIY:

  • Non-slip floor coverings in workshops or garages
  • DIY projects such as workbenches, steps or robust doormats for outdoor use

Warp plates offer a number of advantages that make them an ideal choice for safety-related and industrial applications.

You want to buy Chequer plates ? See the advantages for yourself:

  • Slip resistance: The raised warts offer excellent grip, even when wet or dirty. The special arrangement of the lugs allows water to run off quickly and prevents the formation of puddles.
  • Robustness and durability: Warp plates are extremely resistant to wear and mechanical stress.
  • Corrosion resistance: aluminum versions are particularly corrosion-resistant and suitable for outdoor use.
  • Versatility: Ideal as flooring in workshops, industrial plants, storage rooms, steps, loading ramps and swimming pools. They are also used as manhole covers or on access ramps.
  • Low weight: Aluminum hot-rolled sheets in particular are lightweight and therefore easy to transport and install, which reduces the amount of work involved.
  • Good processability: Warp plates can be precisely cut, shaped and individually adapted, making them ideal for customized applications.
  • Safety: Warp plates meet important safety standards for slip resistance and make a significant contribution to preventing accidents in areas with an increased risk of slipping.

Warp plates are mainly made of aluminum, as this Material is light and easy to process.

  • Chequer plates Alu: Aluminum chequer plates made from the alloy AlMg3 are particularly light and corrosion-resistant.

Chequer plates Alu is produced using a rolling process in which the characteristic surface structure with raised warts is embossed into the aluminum. The sheet is passed through special embossing rollers that press the wart pattern (e.g. duett or quintett) into the surface.

This process can be carried out by cold or hot rolling, depending on the thickness of the sheet. After Embossing-depth , the checker plate is cut to the desired dimensions and, if necessary, further processed, e.g. with an additional surface treatment to protect against corrosion.

The term chequer plate can be used synonymously with Chequer plates and tear plate, with chequer plate acting as a generic term that refers to the ribbed surface texture of these sheets. The other two terms are derived from the shape of the protrusions.

Chequer plates are usually made of aluminum and have elongated, pointed protrusions known as tubercles. These lugs are arranged in rows parallel to each other, with each row offset at a 90-degree angle to the next. Common variants are the duet plate with two lugs and the quintet plate with five parallel lugs.

Tear plate is characterized by individual oval elevations that are arranged diagonally to each other. These sheets are mainly made of steel or stainless steel. A widespread variant is the Mandorla sheet, whose name is derived from the almond-shaped structure of the protrusions.

The slip resistance of Chequer plates is assessed according to the DIN 51130 standard, which classifies floors in work areas with an increased risk of slipping. Chequer plates, especially in industrial and commercial applications, are often classified according to these slip resistance classes to ensure that they meet the required safety standards. The slip resistance classes range from R9 (low slip resistance) to R13 (very high slip resistance).
